What does ultrasound have to do with Lip Rejuvenation?

If lines and wrinkles are just beginning to form above or around your lips, or if these lines are visible and prominent, there is a temporary healing stage which immediately occurs as you begin lip rejuvenation. Temporary however can mean a few, or several months, depending if the lips continue to increase in fullness which they normally do. During this temporary stage, lines above and below the lips become more prominent due to the significant increase in lip fullness, which is verified when we compare to your before photo. Let me explain why this added lip fullness is the cause of this temporary healing stage, and how ultrasound can assist in circumventing it, altogether.

As the tissues beneath your lips begin to shrink from extreme and prolonged dehydration, this shrinking causes a “drawstring effect” because it pulls the tissue to which it is attached (tissues beneath your upper and sometimes lower lip lines), and because the skin above and or below your lips is attached to the tissues being pulled and drawn downward, “puckering” of the skin occurs, which we refer to as lines and wrinkles above and below the lips.

To restore the lip tissues to their healthy state, they must be intensely hydrated and nourished for a dedicated period of time. Since the tissues of the lips are extremely dehydrated, what occurs to a dry sponge when immersed in water is similar to what occurs to the lip tissues after receiving Lips 2 Kiss products; they increase in fullness from the intense hydration given them. When this occurs, the area above and or below your lips must stretch to accommodate the added fullness and the extra pulling can make the lines appear more prominent.
