Did You Know About . . .

Teeth and Aloe Vera

This one little secret can save you thousands of dollars over your lifetime. It takes an extra minute in the morning and at night. I began doing this over 29 years ago and continue to do it today. If done consistently, plaque cannot form on your teeth.

You want to use pure aloe vera gel - clear. I use Fruit of the Earth. It has blue markings on the bottle. You can get it online, at Walmart, Riteaid, and other retailers. Wet your toothbrush, apply a generous amount of aloe vera, and brush your teeth well. Then use your regular toothpaste so you finish with the taste you like. (Fruit of the Earth is the only brand I have ever used so I do not know if any other will work. I have no affiliation with the company).

Memory Foam Pillow

For those of you who cannot sleep the entire night on your backs, consider getting a memory foam pillow. It gives when you lay your head upon it, and when sleeping on your side it absorbs the weight of your face, and helps minimize lines and wrinkles in the morning.

Allergies & Pillowcases

If you suffer from allergies, particularly those outdoors, sleep on a clean, fresh pillowcase each and every night. Unless you wash your hair before going to bed, (which few women do), allergens get trapped in your hair and are transferred to your pillowcase. Resting your head on a clean pillowcase will help you get relief.

Washcloths & Olive Oil

Never use a facial cleanser or any astringent on or around your lips. These tend to deplete the natural oils in the tissues. The eye area is another place you may want to discontinue using them. Instead, wet a clean washcloth every night with warm water and go over your lips, the area above and around them, and around your eye area. (I do this on my entire face and neck).

If any makeup still remains, use more warm water to rinse out your washcloth, and on one end of it apply a little virgin oil and remove any remaining makeup. Use more warm water one more time to rinse out your washcloth, and remove any remaining olive oil. Remember to use a clean washcloth every single night.

Breakouts & Anti - Perspirants

This does not apply for those on any aggressive acne treatment.

For the occasional blemish that starts to appear, try putting anti-perspirant on it immediately. The solid stick form works best. Do this morning and night and avoid using any creams or moisturizers on it. until it disappears. A friend and neighbor who is an M.D. shared this little secret with me.

Eczema Relief
